** An avid music lover, Miller founded four jazz festivals and collaborated with musicians to create ten different jazz masses utilizing the music of Coltrane, Ellington, Armstrong and others. His live music venue, Padre’s, opened to rave reviews in the West Texas arts town of Marfa in May 2009.  Currently he is rector of Christ Episcopal Church in Covington, Louisiana.     Fr. Bill writes: “As many of you know my dog Nawiliwili Nelson has cancer. He was given between 3 and 12 months to live and he is already on month 7! Wili and I are planning a special road trip together this summer in July. It’s called “On the Road Again: The Last Howlelujah!” We’ll be sharing stories from “The Gospel According to Sam, Sinbad, Lili and Wili.” On Monday, July 10th, we will be speaking at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church at 7:00 pm.  We’ll be autographing and pawtographing copies of The Gospel According to Sam and The Beer Drinker’s Guide to God.

CONVERSATIONS WITH DOG: REFLECTIONS ON “THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO SAM” is an edgy, honest, often hilarious exploration of the spirituality in the everyday world inhabited by humans and their animal friends. The “Sam” in the title is Miller’s Airedale, a lovable “wounded healer” of a dog who survived a house fire that burned off his ears but could not extinguish his spirit. Grounded in faith tradition and furry revelation, Father Bill shares humorous stores about his “Holy Trinity of Terriers” – Sam, Jack and Wili.  DOG explores the meaning of a “spirituality on all fours” that is grounded, earthy, honest, affirming and real.

THE BEER DRINKER’S GUIDE TO GOD: THE WHOLE AND HOLY TRUTH ABOUT LAGER, LOVING, AND GIVING   Being upright does not mean you have to be uptight! Fr. Bill’s collection of stories opens our minds to the glory of God and our mouths to some of God’s more delicious creations. Touching on the themes of gratitude, openness and spiritual transformation, this engaging, inspirational message takes the listener on a journey from the deeply touching to the laugh-out-loud funny.  You’ll want to raise a toast to religious truth so joyfully embraced and expressed.
