… by continuously “cross-pollinate” – for mutual benefit — ΦBK with all of the organizations I belong to by (for example) connecting ΦBK with the two foundations where I’m a trustee (Community Foundation of the TX Hill Country & the Hill Country University Center Foundation Inc.), organizations where I’m a member / board member / officer (FBG Morning Rotary, Hill Country Cares; Osher Lifelong Learning Institute; TX Tech entities, FBG Chamber of Commerce & its annual Leadership Gillespie County & iOpener leadership programs, Independent School Districts, TX Tech universities’ alumni association; etc.)

  1. Purchase of annual memberships for each association @$125 into the 900-member, high-impact Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce = on-going name-recognition / publicity & collaborative opportunities through FBG’s hyper-active community

 

  1. ΦBK Association of West Texas & Eastern Mexico  & ΦBKAAGA sponsorships @$275 of  FBG Morning Rotary Club’s The Oktoberfest Kraut Run to support local literacy programs (ΦBK association’s name on runners’ & volunteers’ tee shirts, news releases, etc.

 

  1. Purchase & installation of three highly visible ΦBK floor-standing banners (with key, respective Websites & motto) & hundreds of golden-embossed ΦBK bookmark ribbons (ribbons are the ΦBK colors:  light blue & light pink) are available at the three Texas Tech Hill Country Regional Teaching sites in Fredericksburg, Marble Falls & Junction, TX – along with front-desk-supplied ΦBK Society tri-fold fliers & other reader-friendly ΦBK-related calls to action (about aspiring to PBK membership, where ΦBK chapters are located, why join, why join a ΦBK association, etc.).  ΦBK floor-standing banners are front-&-center especially for high-profile visits by TX Tech Univ. System &  TTU administrators, faculty & staff – at special events at the three Hill Country sites.

 

  1. inclusion of ΦBK-related information (purpose, history, locations of chapters & associations); ΦBK-embossed, bookmark ribbons; & local ΦBK contact information in all Welcome to Fredericksburg packets … presented personally by the business that welcomes all new residents.  – including a call-to-action for teachers, school administrators, counselors, parents, grandparents of college & college-bound students:  to encourage the students to find out about ΦBK, aspire to ΦBK membership & to accept a ΦBK invitation for membership.

Energetic discussion of the benefits of ΦBK membership & the distribution of ΦBK -related information & PBK-branded give-aways (embossed bookmarks, ΦBK Society tri-fold, contact information & “Smarties” candies) to 15 members of the FBG Chamber of Commerce-sponsored iOpener leadership program for high school juniors.  – including a call-to-action to encourage the students to find out about ΦBK, aspire to ΦBK membership & to accept a ΦBK invitation for membership.

  1. Purchase @$250 to place ΦBK name, Website, etc. — on award-related tee shirts for Fredericksburg-area students – to be presented by cheerleaders … – including a call-to-action for the students to find out about ΦBK, aspire to ΦBK membership & to accept a ΦBK invitation for membership.

  1. Year-long collaboration of ΦBK Assoc. of W. TX & E. NM, ΦBKAAGA & the 20-member Leadership Gillespie County class of 2016 through my having been selected to participate in the very active, monthly events & two community projects of the LGC class of 2016

a.  Calls-to-action for 19 other leader-participants & for them to alert their children’s teachers, school administrators, counselors, parents, grandparents of college & college-bound students:  to encourage the students to find out about ΦBK, aspire to ΦBK membership & to accept a ΦBK invitation for membership.

b.  $7.5K ΦBKAAGA & ΦBK of W. TX & E. NM endowment via the Hill Country University Center Foundation’s fund to benefit the cultural & educational enrichment of Boys & Girls Club of Fredericksburg, TX (given Phi Beta Kappa’s slogan “Love of learning is the guide of life”) in honor of the Leadership Gillespie Class of 2016 … at the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country in Kerrville, TX; PO Box 291354, Kerrville, TX  78029-1354; 830-896-8811 (www.CommunityFoundation.Net & click on blue FundWeb box)

NM) at the exterior walkway-entrance of the beautiful Hill Country University Center in Fredericksburg [home of one of the three Texas Tech Hill Country Regional Teaching sites]

 

  1.  Dec. 9, 2016, probably in the early afternoon:  20-person attendance at TX Tech Hill Country Osher Lifelong Learning Institute presentation by ΦBK Steve Balch (Pres. of both the Lambda of TX Chapter of ΦBK & the ΦBK Assoc. of W. TX & E. NM), Lubbock:  complete with presentation-room set up (ΦBK floor-standing banner, ΦBK bookmark ribbons for all; documents about the history of ΦBK & the locations of chapters & associations; ΦBK Society tri-fold flier, etc.) & invited guests from the ΦBKAAGA – including a call-to-action for teachers, school administrators, counselors, parents, grandparents of college & college-bound students:  to encourage the students to find out about ΦBK, aspire to ΦBK membership & to accept a ΦBK invitation for membership.  ΦBKAAGA can tell Steve how its association has such a large number of paid members.  Steve can share tips about how the Lambda of TX ΦBK sheltered by ΦBK faculty, staff & administrators regularly manage an 80+% membership-acceptance rate.
