East Lubbock Gateway:  For more information or to help, please call the Roots Historical Arts Council:  806-928-4268.  All East Lubbock residents & supporters of East Lubbock from throughout the city are invited. Find out about the East Lubbock Gateway Project & gain additional ideas you would like to see incorporated into the gateway (almost a half-mile along Avenue A:  from 17th St. to 23rd St.).  Bricks for the gateway’s fencing will be donated by the Lubbock Independent School District, following the scheduled demolition of Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School & the partial demolition of Ella Iles Elementary School.
